Pocono Test Speeds – Day 1:

64 cars took laps on the first day of testing at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, PA. The fastest was #38-Gilliland (Ford) at 164.408mph. Followed by #88-Earnhardt Jr. (Chevy), #18-Busch (Toyota), #1-Truex Jr. (Chevy), and #48B-Johnson (Chevy). #12-Newman was the fastest Dodge at 18th. Also testing were #47-Marcos Ambrose, Jason Leffler in the #70 Chevy, Brad Coleman tested a second car of Hall of Fame Racing, the #97 Toyota; Jon Wood is testing the #21 and David Green tested the #87 Chevy [Furniture Row?]. Last June’s pole speed was 170.062mph by Newman and the track qualifying record is held by Kasey Kahne, set in June 2004 at 172.533mph. The test was ended a few hours early at 4:30pm/et due to rain.
