Ren interim crew chief for Harvick at Chicagoland: UPDATE 2: Rogers out

During the Nationwide Series qualifying session on ESPN, it was noted that Rick Ren is acting as interim crew chief for the #33-KHI Chevy with driver, Kevin Harvick for the Dollar General 300 at Chicagoland Speedway [Ren is currently crew chief for #33-Ron Hornaday Jr. in the Truck Series]. No word on the status of Wally Rogers but it was mentioned that there would be a personnel change this week at Kevin Harvick Inc.(7-11-2008)
UPDATE: During prerace activities on ESPN, Kevin Harvick said that Wally Rogers has been let go as crew chief for the #33 Nationwide team; felt the needed consistency was not there for the team. Rick Ren will handle one more race in NNS. After that, other team members will take over for a couple of weeks while the situation is evaluated and a decision is made.(7-11-2008)
UPDATE 2 Rick Ren served as Kevin Harvick’s crew chief on the Kevin Harvick Inc. #33 entry at Chicagoland, but Ren’s commitment is in trying to defend his Craftsman Truck Series title with KHI driver Ron Hornaday Jr. Ren was replacing Wally Rogers, whom Harvick let go in his search of more consistency within the team. With Ren and Hornaday at Kentucky Speedway this weekend, Jason Meeks will make the decisions for driver Cale Gale.(ESPN.com)(7-15-2008)
