Baker Curb Racing has laid off 15 employees, about one-third of the staff, because it could not find a sponsor for the Nationwide Series #37 Ford, co-owner Gary Baker said. Im not crazy about layoffs, but thats what we had to do, Baker said. We just temporarily cut back from a two-car team to a one-car team. We have to find sponsorship and get the #37 back on the track either by Daytona in February or earlier. The #27 Ford driven by Brad Coleman is fully sponsored by Kimberly Clark, a paper-based consumer product company, through 2010. Baker said Jeff White, the teams chief engineer, has replaced Shawn Parker as crew chief of the #27.(Tennessean)(8-12-2008)
