He is tied with Jeff Gordon for most victories among all drivers there. * Johnson has finished in the top three in eight of his 12 Auto Club Speedway starts, including the past four races. He won the race from the pole, the first time in 17 races at Auto Club Speedway that the race was won from the pole. Johnson scored his fourth series victory from the pole; his previous win from the pole came in his previous victory at Indianapolis. * Johnson led 228 of the 250 laps, the most laps ever led by a driver in a single event at Auto Club Speedway. This is the fifth time in 2008 that Johnson has led the most laps, and he has won three of those races. * Johnson, Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards combined have won the past eight races of the season: Johnson has won two races, and Busch and Edwards have each won three. * Hendrick Motorsports scored its seventh victory at Auto Club Speedway, the most of any team. Hendrick Motorsports posted its fourth victory of the 2008 season.
