#00-Michael McDowell was the Raybestos Rookie of the Race in the September 7 Chevy Rock & Roll 400 at Richmond International Raceway. McDowell scored a 20th-place finish, his best in 18 Sprint Cup Series races. He grabbed top rookie honors for the fifth time this season. #01-Regan Smith leads #77-Sam Hornish Jr. by two points (184-182) in the Raybestos Rookie standings entering the September 14 Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Smith has led the Raybestos Rookie standings since the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway, a span of nine consecutive races. #10-Patrick Carpentier won his first career pole position at the Lenox Industrial Tools 301 at New Hampshire this past June. Carpentier is the only freshman driver to win a pole this season in the Sprint Cup Series. Ryan Newman is the only Raybestos Rookie to win the September race at New Hampshire. He held off Kurt Busch when the race was rain shortened to 207 of the scheduled 300 laps. Newman is also the only freshman driver to win the pole for the fall race and the only Raybestos Rookie to win from the pole.
