Hamlin heading to Japan UPDATE:

from a Joe Gibbs Racing PR: You’ll be heading to Japan and Fuji Speedway for Toyota Motorsports Day during the off season – Are you looking forward to that trip?: Denny Hamlin – “I really am looking forward to it. Usually, when the end of the season rolls around I like nothing more than to go home, turn off my phone and do as little as possible but this is a once-in-a -lifetime opportunity. This is a huge event for Toyota, where they will showcase their Cup and F1 teams for all of their fans – it’s a cool thing to be a part of and I’ll get a chance to visit some new places and meet some new people.”(JGR PR), Kyle Busch was supposed to go, but he has another commitment and has to attend the NASCAR Nationwide Banquet. Hamlin will not be driving a F-1 car but a Stock Car.(11-14-2008) UPDATE: Because he’s required to be in Orlando next weekend for the Nationwide Series banquet, Kyle Busch won’t get to test a Formula One car in Japan. Busch had been looking forward to a Toyota exhibition in which he was going to drive a Sprint Cup car and then an F1 car. NASCAR is requiring him to attend the banquet because he finished in the top 10 in points, and Busch isn’t happy about it. “I have to go to the Nationwide banquet and accept my sixth-place awards instead,” Busch said. “NASCAR took me away from the Formula One car.”(Tampa Tribune)(11-16-2008)
