In a sport filled with “colorful” fans, Deborah Gannon of Canton, Ga., claimed the title of the most colorful of them. Prior to the start of the Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Kyle Busch, driver of the #18 M&M’S Toyota, helped crown Gannon as the winner of “The Most Colorful Fan of NASCAR” contest. Created by M&M’S Racing, “The Most Colorful Fan of NASCAR” contest celebrates, recognizes and rewards all of the enthusiastic NASCAR fans throughout the country, regardless who they pull for at the track. From June 8-Oct. 11, 2008, NASCAR fans nationwide showcased their unmatched love for the sport by uploading their most colorful photos to NASCAR.COM. In the end, Gannon’s photo stood out from the tens of thousands of entries. “I think the people that follow NASCAR are the best fans in the world, so this truly is a great honor,” Gannon said. “Of course, the opportunity to see the season finale in Miami, as well as meet Kyle and coach [Joe] Gibbs ran a close second. It’s an experience I will cherish forever.” Gannon and four other finalists won the opportunity to travel to Homestead to watch the finale and find out who the contest winner was. As the grand prize winner, Gannon also will receive a designer watch, as well as a Richard Petty Driving Experience for her and a guest.(NASCAR.com)(11-22-2008)
