Donny Lia, who will replace[Chuck] Hossfeld for Mystic car owner Bob Garbarino, returns to the [Whelen Modified] division after a year of struggling to make it in the Camping World Truck Series. Lia got chances with two lower tier Truck teams and couldn’t make it work and is on his way back. UPDATE: Bob Garbarino, who got his first championship ring after 47 years as a Modified team owner with Lia at the helm of his #4 Dodge in 2007, has announced that he will bring back the Jericho, N.Y., native for the upcoming 14-race schedule. In addition to coming back to the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour full-time in 2009, Lia hopes to also run as many as 10 races in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.(NASCAR.com)(2-26-2009)
