Rookie Notes: Lowe’s Motor Speedway:


Erik Darnell was the Raybestos Rookie of the Race in the Diamond Hill Plywood 200 at Darlington Raceway. Darnell scored a fourth-place finish, his best effort in three NASCAR Nationwide Series starts. He claimed Raybestos Rookie of the Race honors for the first time this season and scored his first career top-five finish.
Justin Allgaier claimed a fifth-place finish at Darlington, his second top-five and fifth top-10 of the 2009 season.
At least one Raybestos Rookie has scored top-10 finishes in the last eight consecutive NASCAR Nationwide Series races.
Allgaier has a seven-point lead (102-95) over Brendan Gaughan in the Raybestos Rookie standings (102-95) entering the CARQUEST Auto Parts 300 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
Two Raybestos Rookies are in the top-10 in the NASCAR Nationwide Series championship standings: Scott Lagasse Jr. (eighth) and Allgaier (ninth).
