Brendan Gaughan was the Raybestos Rookie of the Race in the CARQUEST Auto Parts 300 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Gaughan scored a second-place finish, his best in 12 NASCAR Nationwide Series races, and became just the fourth Raybestos Rookie to scored a top-five in the spring race at Lowe’s Motor Speedway (21 races). He claimed his first top-five and fourth top-10 finish this season and took Raybestos Rookie of the Race honors for the third time in 2009. Gaughan led the race twice for four laps and was the only Raybestos Rookie to lead a lap in the event.
At least one Raybestos Rookie has scored top-10 finishes in the last NINE consecutive NASCAR Nationwide Series races.
Gaughan leads Justin Allgaier by three points (115-112) in the Raybestos Rookie standings entering the Heluva Good! 200 at Dover International Speedway.
