Rusty Wallace Racings plans to move to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in 2010 are on hold, as Wallace said Friday at Kentucky Speedway that his two-car team will remain in the Nationwide Series next year. Wallace had wanted to move drivers Steve Wallace and Brendan Gaughan to Cup for next season but realized he couldnt pull it off. Thats totally on hold right now, Wallace said. We have totally make a decision to go Nationwide racing with Brendan and Stephen next year. My goal is still to get in Cup, but not now. Too much weird [stuff] is happening with this economy. Our Nationwide cars are funded real well. Im happy with that. Itd be too much for me to bite off [to move to Cup]. Wallace said he is working on a deal to get son Steve as many as 10 Sprint Cup races next season, pending sponsorship. When asked if he would stay with Chevy next year, Wallace said its too early to say.(Scene Daily)(6-12-2009)
