NASCAR veteran/star Ron Hornaday spoke excitedly today about … Buddy the Boar, a mammoth, prize-winning hog at the Iowa State Fair. “I’ve got to go get a picture, put it on my Facebook,” said Hornaday, 51, who has won five straight Camping World Truck Series races. Hornaday and fellow Truck Series driver Ricky Carmichael, the former motocross star, appeared in Des Moines to help promote the debut of the Camping World Truck Series at Iowa Speedway in Newton. That race, the Lucas Oil 200 will run under the lights, beginning at about 8:15 p.m. on Sept. 5. “It’s going to be awesome for the trucks,” Hornaday said. “Short tracks just fit these trucks so good.”(Des Moines Register)(8-14-2009)
