New Hampshire Rookie Notes:

#20-Joey Logano was the Raybestos Rookie of the Race in the September 12 Chevy Rock & Roll 400 at Richmond International Raceway. Logano posted a 14th-place finish and grabbed top rookie honors for the 19th time this season. Logano leads #82-Scott Speed by 25 points (215-190) in the Raybestos Rookie standings entering the September 20 Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. All three members of the 2009 Raybestos Rookie class have scored at least one top-10 finish. Ryan Newman is the only Raybestos Rookie to win the September race at New Hampshire. He scored his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series win in 2002 when he held off Kurt Busch in a race rain shortened by rain to 207 of 300 laps. Newman is also the only freshman driver to win the pole for the fall race and is also the only first-year driver to lead the most laps in the fall event (he led three times for 143 laps). The 2006 race marked the first time two Raybestos Rookies finished inside the top-10 in the fall race at New Hampshire: Denny Hamlin (fourth) and J.J. Yeley (eighth).(Camp & Assoc./Raybestos), see standings, history and more notes/facts on my 2009 Rookies page.(9-20-2009)
