Owensboro native Michael Waltrip, who twice won the prestigious Daytona 500, will join the Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2010, announced Wednesday. Waltrip and seven others will be inducted April28 at an induction dinner at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Louisville. Waltrip won the Daytona 500 in 2001 and 2003 and later started his own team, racing Toyotas. He has four career NASCAR victories, three of which came at Daytona International Speedway.(Louisville Courier-Journal), brother Darrell was inducted in 1999.(1-14-2010)
