UPDATE: StopRepairBills.com, the St. Peters, MO based seller of extended auto service contracts, will sponsor NASCAR driver Brian Scott during this year’s racing season, according to Braun Racing, the owner of Scott’s #11 Toyota. StopRepairBills.com was another name for National Dealers Warranty, one of 11 St. Louis area service-contract brokers being sued by Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster for deceptive practices and consumer fraud. Late last year, National Dealers Warranty merged with another firm, Auto Warranty Protection Services. St. Charles County businessman Rudge Gilman was president of both companies, and he is heading the combined firm, called NRRM. It will continue to do business as StopRepairBills.com, according to state business filings. There’s nothing new about service-contract firms here sponsoring NASCAR drivers. Last year, StopRepairBills.com sponsored NASCAR driver Scott Wimmer for 12 races. Wentzville-based US Fidelis, which claimed to be the country’s top seller of extended service contracts until it collapsed in December, last year sponsored the NASCAR team operated by St. Louis native Rusty Wallace.(St. Louis Post Dispatch)(2-9-2010)
