Chevy A Chevy driver has won four (4) of the 12 previous NSCS races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS). Chevy has won one (1) pole at LVMS. Chevy drivers have scored 24 top-five finishes and 44 top-10 finishes at LVMS. A Chevy has led 1,026 laps (33% of 3,106 possible) at LVMS. #48-Johnson has three (3) LVMS victories (’05, ’06, and ’07). Chevy has won both Sprint Cup races in 2010 and has 653 wins and 592 poles since 1949.
Ford: Ford Racing has more NASCAR Sprint Cup Series wins at Las Vegas Motor Speedway than any other manufacturer with 6. Matt Kenseth and Carl Edwards are the only two active Ford drivers to win a NSCS race at LVMS. Kenseth won back-to-back events in 2003 and 2004 while Edwards took the checkered flag in 2008. There are no “FR9” engines being run this week. A total of 12 Fords are entered and guaranteed starting spots in Sunday’s Shelby American.
Dodge: Dodge has one win in 12 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series events at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Sterling Marlin took the win in a Dodge in 2002. Dodge has earned two poles at Las Vegas Motor Speedway ‘Â 2004 and 2007. In nine career LVMS starts, Kurt Busch has never started outside of the top 10. Busch’s average starting position at the 1.5-mile track is an incredible 5.7. Last Dodge NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Win: Kurt Busch, 11/08/2009, 2009 Dickies 500 at Texas Motor Speedway. Dodge teams have posted 45 wins since the manufacturer’s return to NASCAR’s premier series in 2001 after being out of the sport since 1977.
