Jessie Smith to make debut at Kansas:

Jesse Smith is making his NASCAR debut May 2 at Kansas Speedway in the Camping World Truck Series race. The 20-year-old, who started his racing career at age five, has won national titles in quarter midgets and Bandoleros, as well as in legend car competition against such NASCAR stars as Joey Logano, David Ragan, and two-time Gateway International Raceway winner Reed Sorenson. Smith is racing in the #90 truck of Stringer Motorsports, a team owned by Doug Stringer and affiliated with Nationwide Series’ regulars, Braun Racing, owned by Todd Braun. Making the calls atop the pit box during the race is Tripp Bruce. This season, the #90 team has fielded trucks for James Buescher and USAC racer Brad Sweet, both of whom have finished in the top-15 in their respective races. Smith said while this is only scheduled to be a one-race deal, he has a high comfort level with them.(St. Louis Globe-Democrat)(4-23-2010)
