Tim D’Annunzio said he is sponsoring a car in the NASCAR Nationwide Series TECH-NET Auto Service 300. Mike Bliss’ #40 Chevy will be decked out in a “Vote Tim D’Annunzio for Congress” paint scheme for Saturday’s race. The campaign spent $25,000 to be the car’s main sponsor for one race, said D’Annunzio’s press secretary, Lauren Slepian. Former NASCAR driver Lake Speed recently endorsed D’Annunzio and made a television ad for him. Speed recommended D’Annunzio to Bliss as a potential sponsor, Slepian said. D’Annunzio has spent more than a $1 million of his own money and has raised more individual contributions than his opponents in his race to unseat U.S. Rep.
