Some Chassis selections for Pocono:


  • #1-Jamie McMurray: Crew Chief Kevin “Bono” Manion has elected to bring Chassis #1004 will be making its third start of the season at Pocono. Jamie McMurray drove the chassis just six weeks prior at Michigan finishing 24th. This chassis was also used at Texas Motor Speedway where McMurray started 15th and finished 30th after being caught in a nine-car on-track incident.
    #2-Kurt Busch, crew chief Steve Addington and the “Blue Deuce” crew are racing their “PRS-712” Miller Lite “Vortex” Dodge this weekend at Pocono. The team debuted the car at Dover in May, where Busch started 12th and finished 19th. This weekend’s Pocono battle will be its second race. The backup car for this weekend is the “PRS-715” Dodge, the car Busch named “Charger” after winning the March race with it in its debut.
    #5-Mark Martin: Gustafson has chosen Hendrick Motorsports Chassis No. 5-550 for Sunday’s race at Pocono. This is the same chassis that Martin drove to an 11th-place finish at Indianapolis Motor Speedway last week. .
    #6-David Ragan: Primary: RK-613 Last ran the Sprint Showdown ‘“ finished seventh; Backup: RK-633 Last ran Michigan. The Wheeling, WV Center (SLIC – 2600) in the Mid-Atlantic District has been selected as the UPS Maximum Center for the Red Cross Pennsylvania 500 Race at Pocono Raceway. The Wheeling Center is recognized for maintaining outstanding results on the Balanced Scorecard in 2010 and in the district for 2009. The center consistently demonstrated strong results in every area of package operations including production, safety, service, and growth.
    #11-Denny Hamlin: and the The FedEx team will unload Chassis JGR 279 this weekend in Pocono. JGR 267 will serve as the backup. The #11 FedEx Office Toyota will carry the numbers 0730 on the b-post this weekend at Pocono Raceway in recognition of the FedEx Office team located in Birmingham (Ala.). The Birmingham/Inverness team was recently named 2010 FedEx Office Group of the year for FY 2010, and is leading the annual President’s Club program, which recognizes results in combined performance areas of sales, profit dollars, turnover and customer service.
    #12-Brad Keselowski: The #12 Penske Dodge Charger team will use chassis PRS-733 during Sunday’s 500-mile race at Pocono Raceway. This is a brand new chassis to the #12 team.
    #14-Tony Stewart: Chassis No. 14-515: This car is a carryover chassis from the former Haas CNC team, but it was essentially rebuilt since failing to qualify for the November 2008 race at Texas. Prior to Texas, Chassis No. 14-515 made two starts, with its debut coming in August at Michigan. There, Tony Raines qualified 30th and finished 31st. The car was then tested Sept. 9 at Kentucky Speedway in preparation for its next start at Kansas. Raines was again at the wheel, qualifying 25th and finishing 23rd. The All-Star Race at Charlotte marked Chassis No. 14-515’s third career start, but first of 2009 and first with Stewart at the controls. The non-points race displayed a marked change for the car, as Stewart wheeled Chassis No. 14-515 into the lead on lap 98, where he held the point for the final two circuits around the 1.5-mile oval to take the car’s first victory as well as the first win of any kind for Stewart-Haas Racing. The car saw track time again June 1-2 when it participated in a Goodyear tire test at Indianapolis. Last year’s Brickyard 400 was the car’s first point-paying start of 2009, where it qualified seventh and led two laps before finishing a solid third. It sat idle until getting a new body and a trip to the wind tunnel in preparation for its sixth career start this past May at Darlington Raceway. There, it started 24th and finished 23rd when the race ended. With a new body honed in the wind tunnel, Chassis No. 14-515 returns to the track this weekend at Pocono.

    #19-Elliott Sadler: The #19 Air Force Ford Fusion team has prepared chassis No. 283 for this weekend’s event. This is the same car the team ran earlier this season at Darlington and Michigan.
    #20-Joey Logano: The #20 Team is taking chassis #278 this weekend for the 200-lap event at Pocono Raceway. This is another new chassis in The Home Depot Team stable. The back-up car is chassis #247 which Logano drove to a 10th-place finish at Dover, and at the Pocono race in June where he ran in the top five until the late-race incident. The Home Depot associates from store # 3919 from Quail Springs, Okla. The store number will ride along with Logano on the rear quarter panel of The Home Depot Toyota this weekend for the Pennsylvania 500. It is fitting the Quail Springs store is featured this week on the car, although it is located in the northern part of Oklahoma City, the street address is…Pennsylvania Ave.
    #29-Kevin Harvick: Built new for 2010, Harvick raced this chassis at Pocono in June, where he started 22nd and finished fourth.
    #31-Jeff Burton: will race chassis No. 317 from the Richard Childress Racing NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stable. Built brand new for 2010, this Caterpillar Chevrolet Impala will be put through its first paces this weekend.
    #33-Clint Bowyer: will pilot Chassis No. 298. This Chevrolet, built new in 2010, made its debut at Atlanta in March, where Bowyer finished 23rd following a late-race contact that cut down his left-rear tire. In May, Bowyer was in line for another solid finish at Dover but, on the final pit stop of the day, he left his stall with the jack wedged underneath the #33 machine, resulting in a pit road penalty, the loss of a lap and a less-than-desired 17th-place finish. Most recently, started on the outside row and led 59 laps en route to a ninth-place finish in this #33 Impala the last time at Pocono in June. Bowyer’s Chevy will sport a different paint scheme for the second consecutive weekend as the white, blue and maroon colors of The Hartford adorn the #33 for the second of three races in which the Hartford, Conn.,-based corporation will be featured as the primary sponsor. The Hartford’s final race as primary sponsor the October 10th race at Auto Club Speedway.
    #42-Juan Pablo Montoya: Crew Chief Brian Pattie will bring Chassis #910 to Pocono Raceway this weekend. Montoya last drove this chassis at the first Pocono event where he qualified seventh and finished eighth. Earlier in the season the chassis was used at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway where Montoya finished in the 37th-position after being involved in an altercation while running in the top-10.
    #43-A.J. Allmendinger: The No. 43 Richard Petty Motorsports team led by crew chief Mike Shiplett has prepared chassis No. 294 for this weekend’s event at Pocono Raceway. The team last utilized this chassis for the event at Michigan where Allmendinger finished 11th. It was also run at Charlotte where the team finished 14th.
    #48-Jimmie Johnson: last piloted primary chassis No. 592 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May.Back up chassis No. 553 has collected three wins in four starts – the last coming at Auto Club Speedway in February.
    #88-Dale Earnhardt Jr.: Crew chief Lance McGrew and the #88 team will unload Hendrick Motorsports Chassis No. 88-584. Earnhardt picked up the pole position at Atlanta Motor Speedway and went on to score a 15th-place finish with this chassis in March. Earnhardt last raced this chassis at Pocono in June where he notched a 19th-place finish after qualifying third. Starting this week, Mountain Dew kicks off the Paint the 88 program. Kroger consumers and Earnhardt fans can visit www.Paintthe88.com to create and submit their favorite custom paint out. Earnhardt will select one special paint scheme for the #88 Diet Mountain Dew/National Guard Chevrolet he will drive in Phoenix.
    #98-Paul Menard: Crew chief Slugger Labbe and the #98 RPM crew have prepared chassis No. 653 for this weekend’s event. This is the same chassis the Menards team ran at Darlington Raceway earlier this season.
