Robby Gordon driving at Montreal: UPDATE:

Robby Gordon will compete in the Nationwide Series race at Montreal next week in his first appearance at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve since his dispute with NASCAR in 2007. Gordon will drive a car under his Robby Gordon Motorsports banner Aug. 29 in the NAPA Auto Parts 200. In the inaugural Montreal race three years ago, after an accident on lap 72 that started behind leader Marcos Ambrose, Gordon got past Ambrose, and then Ambrose turned Gordon. Gordon believed he was at least second when the yellow came out, but NASCAR ruled that he was 13th because he had not kept reasonable speed after the tap from Ambrose. Gordon disobeyed NASCAR’s order and black flag and spun Ambrose on the first green flag lap following the restart. Gordon continued to the finish line and did burnouts as if he had won the race. But Kevin Harvick was the winner as Gordon had disobeyed the black flags. Gordon was then suspended by NASCAR for the Sprint Cup race the next day at Pocono for blatant disrespect and disregard for NASCAR directives on multiple occasions at Montreal.(Scene Daily)(8-19-2010)
