Joey Logano won the Nationwide Series Kansas Lottery 300 on Saturday at Kansas Speedway. It was his eighth series win in his 61st start and his second victory of 2010. It was also his second Kansas win in three starts. He led five times for 18 laps, including the final six.
Logano is the first repeat winner in 10 series races at Kansas. He won from the pole, which he has accomplished five times. He is the first Kansas winner to start from the pole, however.
The victory was the 14th in the series for Joe Gibbs Racing this season and the 56th series win for the organization all time. JGR won at Kansas for the third time, the most of any team, and those three victories have come in the past three races there. The team has won nine of the past 11 1.5-mile races.
The victory was the 15th for Toyota in 2010, the most of all teams.
Brad Keselowski (finished second) got his 20th top-5 finish of the season. Keselowski has a 374-point lead over Carl Edwards.
Kyle Busch (third) rebounded from a spin while leading on Lap 89; he led the most laps without winning for the second straight Kansas race.
Kevin Harvick (fourth) has finished in the top 10 in 21 of his 23 starts this season.
Martin Truex Jr. (fifth) made his first series start of the season.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (sixth) was the best finishing rookie of the year contender, and he has finished in the top 11 in the past four races.
Brendan Gaughan (ninth) finished in the top 10 for the first time since finishing sixth at ORP in July.
Ricky Carmichael (18th) made his series debut.
Twenty-four drivers finished on the lead lap, a series record at Kansas. Twenty-one lead changes set a series record for Kansas. (ESPN.com)(10-4-2010)
