Kansas Races facts and Notes:


  • ‘¢ Greg Biffle won the Sprint Cup Series Price Chopper 400 presented by Kraft at Kansas Speedway on Sunday. It was his 16th series victory in his 287th start and his second victory of 2010. He is the third different Chase driver to win in the three Chase races in 2010 and climbed from ninth to eighth in points. He led three times for 60 laps, including the final 29.
    ‘¢ Biffle started fifth, making him the fourth Kansas winner in a row to start in the top 10. This was his second Kansas victory in his ninth race. He also won in 2007 and has finished third or better in the past four Kansas races. He’s the only driver to score eight straight top-15 finishes at Kansas and has finished on the lead lap in the past eight Kansas races.
    ‘¢ Tony Stewart led the most laps (76) for the 53rd time in his 421-race career
    ‘¢ Three drivers have won half of the 63 Chase races, Johnson (19), Biffle (seven) and Edwards (six).
    ‘¢ Biffle’s victory was the 118th series win for Roush Fenway racing. It was the team’s second win in 2010, both by Biffle, and the team’s third win at Kansas, tied with Hendrick Motorsports for the most. It was also the second win of the season for Ford.
    ‘¢ Four Chase drivers have yet to win in 2010: Jeff Gordon, Jeff Burton, Matt Kenseth and Carl Edwards.
    ‘¢ Paul Menard finished eighth, the highest finish by a driver outside the Chase.
    ‘¢ 127 points separate first-place Jimmie Johnson and 10th-place Tony Stewart; this is the smallest gap between first and 10th in points after Race No. 3 of the Chase.(ESPN)(10-5-2010)
