California Dreamin for The Hartford 200 National Winner:

  • The perks keep coming for Laura Burba of Pineville, N.C., who was recently crowned the national winner of The Hartford 200, a program from The Hartford that celebrates the deep connection that Americans have with their cars and their personal stories from the road. On Sept. 22, Richard Childress Racing driver Clint Bowyer surprised Burba with a new Chevrolet Equinox in a special event held outside the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte. This weekend, The Hartford, Bowyer and his No. 33 team will serve as hosts for the 68-year old and her husband, Roger, as they enjoy a VIP race experience in Fontana, Calif. This will be the couples first experience at a race track. Burbas essay detailed how important her car is to her, as she drives a group of retiree tap dancers called the MsSteps to multiple weekly performances at senior centers and events across the region. She beat out four other national finalists selected from thousands of entries. Sunday will mark The Hartfords third Sprint Cup Series race as primary sponsor of the #33 Richard Childress Racing team this year. The other primaries where at Darlington (May 8) and Pocono (Aug. 1). The Hartford is also an associate sponsor for the remaining 2010 events, as well as an associate sponsor for Bowyers RCR teammate, #31-Jeff Burton.(Catalyst)(10-10-2010)
