Brad Keselowski won the 5-hour Energy 250 at Gateway International Raceway on Saturday. It was his 12th career win in his 136th start and his sixth victory of 2010. It was his first win at Gateway in his fifth start, the 10th driver to win a series race at Gateway. Keselowski recorded his 23rd top-5 finish in 2010 and will set a series record for most top-5s in a season if he scores one in each of the last three races. His win was his first after starting the race at the rear of the field; he started the race 40th after Parker Kligerman qualified his car 20th. He led four times for 83 laps, including the final two.
Keselowski leads Carl Edwards by 485 points and will win the 2010 championship if he finishes 21st or better at Texas.
Keselowski’s victory was the 16th in the series for Penske Racing and the team’s seventh win of 2010.
Mike Bliss (finished second) earned his best finish of the season.
Justin Allgaier (third) earned his fifth straight top-10 finish. Allgaier led 88 of the 200 laps; it was the first time in his series career that he led the most laps in a race.
Jason Leffler (fourth) got his sixth top-5 finish of the season.
Edwards (fifth) has finished in the top six in his past seven Gateway starts in the series. He started the race 39th after Erik Darnell qualified his car.
Josh Wise (seventh) earned his best finish of the season.
Jeremy Clements (10th) earned his best career finish.
