Some Chassis selections for Homestead-Miami Speedway:


  • #2-Kurt Busch and his Steve Addington and crew will be racing their ‘PRS-739’ Miller Lite Dodge Charger in this weekends 2010 Sprint Cup season finale at Homestead. This is a brand new chassis that hasnt been raced to date. ‘Thats the plan right now,’ team engineer Dave Winston said on Tuesday morning. ‘Were taking the new car down there in hopes to get a great finish and end the year on a positive note. We are already in the process of looking at what we need to be competitive next year.’
    #5-Mark Martin: crew chief Alan Gustafson has chosen Hendrick Motorsports Chassis No. 5-595 for Sunday’s race in Miami. This is the same chassis that Martin drove to a sixth-place finish at Auto Club Speedway in October after leading 41 laps.
    #6-David Ragan: Primary: RK-711 Last ran Texas and finished eighth; Backup: RK-620 Last ran Vegas and finished 23rd. The Jacksonville South Center (SLIC – 3204) has been selected as the Maximum Center for the November 21 race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The Jacksonville South Center will have its center number on David Ragans UPS Ford as a result of its outstanding performance in safety and operational excellence.
    #9-Aric Almirola: The #9 RPM team has prepared chassis No. 703 for this weekends event. This particular Ford Fusion was last utilized at Kansas Speedway where the team earned the pole position for the event.
    #11-Denny Hamlin: and the FedEx Racing team will unload Chassis JGR 291 this weekend in Homestead. 291 ran, and won, two weeks ago in Texas. Chassis 285 will serve in backup duty. The #11 FedEx Express Toyota will carry the letters SFL on the b-post this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway in recognition of the FedEx Express AGFS and U.S. Operations teams in the South Florida market. In addition to their commitment to customer service, the team is very involved in supporting FedEx community initiatives.
    #12-Brad Keselowski: The #12 Penske Dodge Charger team will use chassis PRS-743 during Sundays 400-mile season-finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway (HMS). This is a brand-new chassis to the #12 team.
    #14-Tony Stewart: Chassis No. 14-583 debuted in early March at Las Vegas, where it qualified ninth and led twice for seven laps before finishing seventh. Prior to Las Vegas, it spent time in the wind tunnel. It returned to the track for a NASCAR-sanctioned test at Charlotte March 23-24 before coming back to Charlotte for the non-points NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, where it started 11th and finished a solid fifth. It revisited the wind tunnel in preparation for its third career start in July at Chicago. The time in the tunnel paid off, as it qualified 3rd and finished 9th. It most recently served as a backup at Kansas and Auto Club Speedway.
    #16-Greg Biffle: is racing the same car this weekend at Homestead that he ran and won with at Pocono and led 224 laps with two weeks ago in Texas.
    #17-Matt Kenseth: Primary: RK-704 was last run at Martinsville.
    #18-Kyle Busch: Chassis No. 283 will make its third-ever start in Sundays Ford 400 Sprint Cup season finale at Homestead. In its first start, in Septembers race at New Hampshire, Busch started ninth and finished ninth. In its most recent start, at Texas two weeks ago, Busch started 29th and finished a disappointing 32nd.
    #19-Elliott Sadler: The #19 RPM team has prepared chassis No. 282 for this weekends event. This particular Ford Fusion was last utilized at Kansas Speedway where the team qualified inside the top 15.
    #29-Kevin Harvick: will pilot Chassis No. 325 at Homestead, which is a completely brand new car which will see its first laps on the track during Friday’s practice.
    #31-Jeff Burton: will race Chassis No. 314. Built new this season, this is the same Caterpillar Chevy Burton drove to finish 4th at Atlanta in Sept before posting a 2nd at Dover three weeks later. Most recently, a 20th-place effort at Charlotte last month.
    #33-Clint Bowyer: will race Chassis No. 328, a brand new car that will turn its first laps on the track at Homestead.
    #43-A.J. Allmendinger: The #43 RPM team has prepared chassis No. 265 for this weekends event at Homestead-Miami Speedway. This particular chassis has been utilized on several occasions this season including most recently at Charlotte in October.
    #48-Jimmie Johnson: will pilot chassis No. 580 in Sunday’s Sprint Cup Series race. He last drove that car to a third-place result at Auto Club Speedway in October. Johnson drove back up chassis No. 558 from a first-place starting spot to Victory Lane at Dover in September.
    #88-Dale Earnhardt Jr.: Crew chief Lance McGrew and the #88 team will unload Hendrick Motorsports Chassis No. 88-599 for this weekend’s race at Homestead. Earnhardt last raced this chassis at Kansas Speedway in October. Earnhardt is scheduled to make his 400th Cup start at the 2011 Daytona 500 in February.
    #98-Paul Menard: Crew chief Slugger Labbe and the #98 RPM crew have prepared chassis No. 653 for this weekends event. This is the same Ford Fusion that the team ran at the event at Kansas Speedway. Menard qualified on the front row and drove to an eighth-place finish. Mastercraft will be back on the hood of the #98 Ford for this weekends event at Homestead.
    #99-Carl Edwards: The #99 Aflac team will be unloading chassis RK-709. Edwards raced this Ford Fusion most recently at Charlotte in October where he finished 16th. It was a new car at Charlotte.
