It’s been over eight months since they went sliding through the fourth turn at Kansas Speedway, but as the 2010 motorsports year wraps up Johnny Sauter’s save after contact from Ron Hornaday is still being recognized as one of the best moments of the year. With just 12 laps to go in the O’Reilly Auto Parts 250, Hornday looked inside of Sauter with lapped traffic directly ahead entering turn three. The two leaders quickly closed the gap on the lapped trucks and the racing room became scarce. Contact was made, sending both drivers sideways with smoke boiling from their tires. Sauter actually tapped the outside retaining wall, righting his truck and allowing him to drive away for his second career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victory. “It’s cool that people around the world think that is one of the best moves of the year,” Sauter said. “To be able to win any race is a huge accomplishment and to win that one after spinning out and bouncing off the wall was one of the highlights of my career. I think it really shows what racing in the Camping World Truck Series is all about; we let it hang out and sometimes we trade a little paint. We’re out there driving hard every lap. UPDATE Best Move Category: Kyle Busch swept into history by becoming the only NASCAR driver to sweep the weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway winning the Camping World Truck, Nationwide and Sprint Cup races.
