Tony Stewart is turning his Hidden Hollow Ranch into ‘a 414-acre laboratory’Â for Mississippi State University wildlife biologists for their study of habitat, overpopulation and other deer-related issues. And marrying his interests in wildlife preservation and providing outdoor opportunities for young people, he is locking in his commitment to host children with life-threatening illnesses to outdoor experiences on his Columbus [Indiania] property. Stewart made the announcement Monday [Dec 7th] morning at his Columbus home, and although he did not name a dollar figure pledged, said he expects his Tony Stewart Foundation to be a long-time partner with the scientists and the Catch-A-Dream Foundation, which grants hunting and fishing experiences to children who have a life-threatening illness. Catch-A-Dream director Martin Brunson said the foundation has granted wishes to 339 children ages 6 to 18 in 45 states since 2001.(The Republic / Indy Channel)(12-13-2010)
