Kurt Bush tests his dragster:

#22-Kurt Busch spent all day Wednesday testing his NHRA Pro Stock dragster on Bradenton (FL) Motorsports Park’s quarter-mile dragstrip. Under the watchful eye of Allen Johnson, his savvy veteran Mopar teammate, Busch clocked in with a fast run of 6.580-second elapsed time at 210.940 mph. Johnson had already posted an eye-popping 6.498-second ET at 213.060 mph on Tuesday for an unofficial record run. “That was a run that we can be proud of,” said Busch, who will be attempting to make his big-league NHRA debut during the 41st NHRA Gatornationals on March 11-13 at Gainesville Raceway. “That run would be plenty fast enough to get us qualified at Gainesville and we’re confident we are ready to go.” Busch was so determined to get in a day of drag racing practice prior to Thursday’s NASCAR Media Day in Daytona that he flew directly from a sponsor appearance in California on Tuesday night and made it to the drag strip early Wednesday morning.
