One of the last Fords left in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series has been forced to suspend efforts due to lack of funding. Brent Raymer Racing, with Brent Raymer behind the wheel of the No. 85 Ford F-150, decided Thursday that without a sponsor the operation cannot continue. Raymer and his four-man team were a garage favorite with their grassroots approach to the sport. The father-son organization ran five races in 2008 followed by 15 in 2009. Its first full season was in 2010 where it made all but two races and finished 19th in driver points. Raymer was recognized as the “Ford. Drive one.” entry. The team failed to qualify for the first two races of the season at Daytona International Speedway and Phoenix International Raceway. Brent and Brent Raymer Racing have no intention of giving up on the sport but understand a sponsor is needed if they are to compete against the multi-truck teams and big corporate sponsors.(Brent Raymer Racing PR)(3-3-2011)
