Juan Pablo Montoya won the Coors Light Pole Award for the 15th Annual Auto Club 400 with a lap of 38.992 seconds, 184.653 mph. This is his sixth pole in 150 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races. His last pole was at Talladega Superspeedway in October 2010. This is his first pole and first top-10 start in 2011. This is his first pole in nine races at Auto Club Speedway. He has four consecutive top-5 starts including second for last year’s spring race. Denny Hamlin (second) posted his first top-10 start of 2011 and his fifth in 11 races at Auto Club Speedway. Joey Logano (third) posted his third top-10 start at Auto Club Speedway. It is his third in five races this season. Andy Lally (38th) was the fastest qualifying rookie.
