Ambrose racing to benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals:

Richard Petty Motorsports driver, Marcos Ambrose, and the #9 Stanley team will be “Racing for a Miracle” at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif., on Sunday as an extra $1 million will be on the line should Ambrose win the 224-mile NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event. Longtime RPM sponsor Stanley will donate $1 million to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals if Ambrose crosses the finish line first in Sonoma as part of the “Racing for a Miracle” program. This multi-faceted program created by Stanley, the Ace Hardware Foundation and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals benefits sick and injured children by raising funds for the hospitals that provide their care. In addition to the possible $1 million donation, Stanley has already pledged $100,000 to the program. On Friday Ambrose with the assistance of four Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals current and former hospital patients, will unveil a special paint scheme that will run this weekend on the # 9 Ford. The names of these four very special kids will be featured on the car and they will serve as honorary crew members of the # 9 team throughout the weekend. The special paint scheme on the #9 Stanley Ford will also include the names of one child from each U.S. state and Washington D.C. Each child featured on the car is a current or former Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals patient who has overcome medical afflictions of every kind.(RPM), see an image of the car on my #9 team paint schemes page.(6-23-2011)
