  • Matt Kenseth won the Coors Light Pole Award for the 11th Annual GEICO 400 with a lap of 29.469 seconds, 183.243 mph.
    This is his sixth pole in 427 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races.
    This is his second pole and ninth top-10 start in 2011. His previous pole came on March 6 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
    This is his first pole in 11 races at Chicagoland Speedway.
    Paul Menard (second) posted his 13th top-10 start of 2011 and his second in five races at Chicagoland Speedway.
    Kurt Busch (third) posted his second top-10 start at Chicagoland Speedway. It is his 15th in 27 races this season.
