#14-Tony Stewart won the rain delayed GEICO 400 Sprint Cup Series race at Chicagoland Speedway for his 40th career win and 1st of the season.
The race came down to fuel mileage with several chase drivers running out on the last lap. #29-Harvick finished 2nd followed by #88-Earnhardt, Jr., #99-Edwards, #2-Keselowski, #22-Busch, #33-Bowyer, #39-Newman, #5-Martin, and #48-Johnson. Pole-sitter #17-Kenseth ran out of gas on the last lap and finished 21st after being penalized for receiving a push from another car.
#29-Kevin Harvick now leads the points by 7 over #14-Stewart.
There were 22 lead changes among 10 drivers and 6 cautions for 25 yellow flag laps. The attendance is listed as 42,000. Las’t year’s Chicago race, held in July, drew 67,500.
