Red Bull will no longer own a NASCAR team at the end of 2011, but X Games legend and Red Bull athlete Travis Pastrana expressed confidence Sunday that the energy drink company will sponsor a car in the Sprint Cup Series next season. Pastrana, who was going to make his Nationwide debut for Pastrana-Waltrip Racing in July before suffering a severe ankle injury after crashing in the X Games Moto-X best trick competition, said Red Bull is “working out the details” of divesting its interest of the team. “[Red Bull] wants to sponsor a team, as opposed to the Formula 1 setup where they do own the team,” Pastrana said following a press conference in the Dover media center.(As the World Turns Left)(10-3-2011)
