Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s car will have a different look this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway as he debuts his #88 Diet Mountain Dew Paint the 88/National Guard Chevy, which was designed by Amy Stanton, of Mooresville, N.C. Between July 1 and Aug. 10 this year, fans had the opportunity to design Earnhardt’s car for this weekend’s race. Earnhardt chose Stanton’s design from almost 11,000 submissions. Earnhardt will make his 550th start in a NASCAR-sanctioned points-paying event this weekend. Earnhardt will be making his 431st NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start when he lines up Sunday at Talladega.
