SPEED’s Hermie Sadler reported on NASCAR Raceday that #48-Jimmie Johnson’s crew found the #48 Chevy had a flat right front tire when it entered the garage this morning at Talladega Superspeedway. NASCAR allowed the team to put a new tire on the car without a penalty. Johnson is scheduled to start 2nd in the Good Sam Club 500 today. The top-10 starters must start the race on the tires they qualified on unless NASCAR allows a change. So Johnson will have three scuffed tires and the one brand new sticker tire to start the race.(10-23-2011)
