Nelson Piquet Jr., a regular in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, will make his debut in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East when he joins Latin American-owned X Team Racing for the season-opening race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday, March 17. Piquet, who led in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season-opener at Daytona International Speedway on February 24, will drive X Team Racing’s #14 Fox Sports Toyota at Bristol in a guest appearance alongside regular drivers Carlos Iaconelli, from Brazil, and Mexican Daniel Suarez. Piquet joined his two teammates for a K&N Pro Series open test at Bristol on Monday, February 27. The Brazilian’s best lap time of 15.97 seconds remained as fastest of the 32 participants who included X Games star Travis Pastrana and Chase Elliott, son of NASCAR legend Bill Elliott.
