Townley pulls double-duty at Pocono; making Cup debut: UPDATE: White replaces Townley in Cup race:

John Wes Townley will pilot the #09 ToyotaCare Toyota Tundra in Saturday’s Pocono Mountains 125 at Pocono Raceway. Townley is also scheduled to make his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series debut driving the #32 Zaxby’s-sponsored entry in Sunday’s Pennsylvania 400. While Townley has not yet raced at Pocono Raceway in Camping World Truck Series competition, he has two previous ARCA starts. Townley has garnered one top-10 and two top-20 finishes, posting his track-best finish of ninth in 2008’s Pennsylvania ARCA 200. (RAB Racing PR)(7-31-2012)
UPDATE: Jason White is in and John Wes Townley is out. Camping World Truck Series driver Jason White will replace Townley, who was planning to make his Cup debut in Sunday’s Pennsylvania 400 with sponsorship from this family-owned Zaxby’s fast-food chicken restaurant chain. But Townley, who did have a guaranteed starting spot in the field because of FAS Lane’s owner points situation, slapped the wall without ever completing a lap in the day’s first practice.
