Ty Dillon will pilot the #3-Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet World Truck Series stable in Saturday’s VFW 200. This week’s 100-lap race marks Dillon’s second appearance at the Brooklyn, Mich.-based facility. Although the RCR driver has yet to compete at the two-mile track in the Camping World Truck Series, he’s no stranger to Victory Lane at the track. In the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards event in June 2011, Dillon led for 22 circuits en route to the race win, marking one of his seven ARCA Racing Series wins last season. Dillon is second in the 2012 Camping World Truck Series driver championship point standings, eight points behind leader Timothy Peters. Of Note: Several RCR pit crew members, including members of the #3 Bass Pro Shops team, participated in a Feed the Children food distribution in conjunction with the Salvation Army in Lexington, N.C. on Tuesday, August 14. Feed the Children sponsored this year’s Prelude to the Dream at Eldora Speedway and because the Dillon brothers finished in the top 10 in the race, they were each able to send a food truck containing $10,000 worth of food to the cities of their choice. Ty chose Lexington and Austin chose Joplin, Mo.(Richard Childress Racing PR)(8-14-2012)
