Bristol Goodyear Tire Notes:

Teams in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will run a slightly different tire set-up than those in the NASCAR Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series at Bristol this weekend . . . while teams in all three series will run the same right-side tire code, Sprint Cup teams will run their own left-side code . . . since the track surface at Bristol was modified after the NASCAR race weekend in March, Goodyear held a tire test at the track on June 12-13 . . . teams and drivers participating in that test were the #14 Stewart-Haas Racing Chevrolet with Tony Stewart, #15 Michael Waltrip Racing Toyota with Clint Bowyer and #31 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet with Jeff Burton . . . this right-side tire code (D-4526) is the same one Cup teams ran at Bristol in March . . . this left-side tire code is different from the one run in March, but has been run by Cup teams at Richmond over the last two seasons . . . it features both compound and construction changes from what was at Bristol in March, and is designed to give the cars more grip . . . unlike on most NASCAR ovals one mile or less in length, on which teams generally do not run inner liners in their tires, teams are required to run liners in their right-side tires only at Bristol . . . air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.
