UPDATE: Appearing Monday night on SPEED’s Race Hub, Elliott Sadler confirmed he would not be back with Richard Childress Racing in 2013. He said he had not been offered an opportunity to stay at Childress next season and that he does not yet have a deal with a team for next year.(9-4-2012)
UPDATE 2: Sources close to the situation said Sadler is in negotiations with Joe Gibbs Racing for a full-time Nationwide and part-time Cup ride, and has one other option with another organization for next season. ‘Right now, I don’t have anything with any team’ Sadler said after the first practice for Friday night’s Nationwide race at Richmond International Raceway. ‘We are working on some things and we are talking to some different teams, and hopefully some will come together.â JGR has an opening after Joey Logano announced on Tuesday he would drive the #22 Sprint Cup car at Penske Racing next season. Logano was offered a full-time Nationwide and part-time Cup ride to stay at JGR in 2013. Sadler has made it clear it is his desire to return to Cup in some form.(ESPN)(9-7-2012)
