The ARCA Racing Series will return in 2013 to Mobile International Speedway, a Rick Crawford Performance Track. Crawford, the track’s manager and promoter, and Ron Drager, the president of ARCA, made the announcement that the series planned a second race at the Irvington oval during a press conference on Monday at Heroes Sports Bar and Grille USA. The race is scheduled for March 9. NASCAR Camping World Truck Series regular Cale Gale provided a hometown victory in the March 10 [2012] ARCA race at MIS. The Mobilian held off Chad Hackenbracht of New Philadelphia, Ohio, in a green-white-checkered finish to win. Gale attended Monday’s announcement along with two other drivers who competed in the first MIS race — Fairhope’s Grant Enfinger and Mobile’s Thomas Praytor.(AL.com)(9-10-2012)
