Continuing its long history of support for active members of the military, veterans, and their families, Bank of America will use the Bank of America 500 to help raise up to $250,000 for Wounded Warrior Project. As part of the bank’s ‘Express Your Thanks’ program, race fans will be invited to sign flags with messages of support for service members and veterans during race weekend. The flags will be converted into a patriotic mosaic that will be displayed during the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway on the night of Saturday, October 13. For each flag signed, the bank will donate $1 to Wounded Warrior Project. #14-Tony Stewart will be on hand Tuesday, Sept 18th at CMS to officially launch the flag mosaic by writing words of support on a flag. He will also explain how fans can show their support for service members and veterans throughout race weekend.
Bank of America’s ‘Express Your Thanks’ program launched on 9/11 and will continue until Veterans Day. In addition to the activities on race weekend, Bank of America is hosting a website that will collect images and messages of thanks to service members and veterans. To participate, individuals can take a photo or write a message and share it on www.bankofamerica.com/troopthanks. Alternatively, they can upload a picture via Instagram or Twitter and tag it with #troopthanks. The images uploaded to the website will be turned into a patriotic digital mosaic. For each uploaded image, Bank of America will donate $1 to Wounded Warrior Project.(Weber Shandwick)(9-18-2012)
