R3 Motorsports teams with Bryson’s FUEL for Charlotte race: R3 Motorsports and Robert Richardson, Jr. are carrying a very special paint scheme this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway for the NASCAR Nationwide race on Friday night. The #23 Chevy will be bright orange adorned with handprints of children who are fighting cancer as well as those who have already lost the battle, and Bryson’s F.U.E.L. decals. Bryson’s F.U.E.L. (Families United to Eliminate Leukemia) was founded in November 2011 when Heather and James Smith’s four- year old son, Bryson, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. The mission is to raise awareness for the lack of medical funding for childhood cancer research and provide families touched by this illness with support. On Tuesday, October 9, R3 Motorsports hosted several families fighting this disease at their China Grove, N.C. shop where the children put their hand prints all over the #23 Chevy, then signed their names below their prints.
