Martinsville Goodyear Tire Notes:

Teams in both NASCAR series will run the same tire codes at Martinsville this weekend, though the Sprint Cup tires will be branded ‘Goodyear Eagle,’ while the Camping World Truck tires will be branded ‘Goodyear Wrangler’ . . . this is the same combination of left- and right-side tires that teams in both of these series ran at Martinsville earlier this season, as well as last October . . . this right-side tire code (D-4468) is the same one Sprint Cup teams ran on all four tire positions at both road courses this season ‘” Infineon and Watkins Glen . . . as on most NASCAR ovals one mile or less in length, teams will not run inner liners in their tires at Martinsville . . . Goodyear held a tire test with the 2013 Sprint Cup cars at Martinsville on August 7-8 . . . teams and drivers participating in that test were the #29 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet with Kevin Harvick, #48 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet with Jimmie Johnson, #56 Michael Waltrip Racing Toyota with Martin Truex Jr. and #99 Roush Fenway Racing Ford with Carl Edwards.(Goodyear), see tire codes, pressures and more on Jayski’s Martinsville Race Info page – Goodyear section.(10-24-2012)
