Cale Gale will make his first start at Phoenix International Raceway on Friday, Nov. 9. The Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender has attended races at the one-mile oval in Avondale, Ariz., but has never driven on the circuit and has not been to the track since it was reconfigured in 2011. Gale, who grew up racing on short tracks, has one pole and a pair of top-five finishes at tracks one-mile or less during the 2012 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season. The #33 Rheem Chevrolet driven by Cale Gale will return to its traditional red and black paint scheme for this weekend’s Lucas Oil 150 at Phoenix International Raceway. Additionally, the Rheem Chevrolet will keep its standard look for next week’s season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.(Eddie Sharp Racing PR)(11-7-2012)
