On Tuesday, Brad Keselowski met Detroit Pistons players in the locker room at the Palace in Auburn Hills. Thursday morning, the 2012 Sprint Cup champion from Rochester Hills stood at the rostrum above the Senate floor at the State Capitol building in Lansing and received a standing ovation from the packed chamber. Beside him was a replica of the Sprint Cup trophy he won for team owner Roger Penske in November. The Senate honored Keselowski with a resolution “ the second time the Penske racing driver has been recognized in the Senate. In 2010, he was honored in Lansing for his Nationwide Series championship. The governors office will proclaim Saturday Brad Keselowski Day throughout the state in a salute to his historic Cup championship, when he became the first Michigan-born driver to win NASCARs premier series.( Detroit Free Press )
