It is a month until the Camping World Truck Series makes its way back to Rockingham Speedway for the second installment of the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at the Rock. This doesnt mean it is all quiet on U.S. Highway 1. NCWTS drivers Max Gresham, Ron Hornaday, Justin Lofton and Brennan Newberry hit the track at Rockingham Speedway Thursday to prepare for the Aprils return. Even though the temperature is 20 to 30 degrees colder than what the drivers and their crews will expect in April, they believe the testing will help them during the race weekend. Gresham competed in last seasons race, finishing 18th after qualifying in the 15th position. He said the key to having a successful run at ‘The Rock” is learning the tracks nuances. Newberry used Thursdays time to continue to get acclimated to his new crew chief and team after NTS Motorsports and Joe Dennette Motorsports merged in the offseason. Lofton was in attendance during the practice session to assist Gresham.( Richmond County Daily Journal )
