#5- Kasey Kahne, a favorite to win the Coca-Cola 600, is battling the flu but is expected to run the entire 600 miles Sunday night at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Kahne, who won last years race, had received intravenous fluids earlier Sunday and while he canceled some prerace appearances, appeared to be feeling OK during the prerace drivers meeting two hours before the race. Kahne told Speed reporter Wendy Venturini that he was feeling fine before the race. ‘I feel alright. I couldnt believe I got sick last night, but I guess it happens’ Kahne said. ‘I feel pretty good now. I took some Ivs and at some plain food and Im looking forward to the race.” A Hendrick Motorsports spokesman said no backup driver was planned for Kahne. ‘Its not that bad’ Kahne said.( Sporting News )
