Las Vegas Motor Speedway president Chris Powell is one of six people who will be inducted into the Southern Nevada Sports Hall of Fame Friday night at the Orleans Arena. Powell will be inducted along with tennis legend Andre Agassi, UFC president Dana White, Las Vegas Events president Pat Christenson, professional golfer Stephanie Louden and long-time local basketball coach Bill Bobier. ‘This is really an induction of Las Vegas Motor Speedway and the employees who have contributed so much to the speedways success over the past 15 years’ Powell said. ‘Im indebted to our chairman, Bruton Smith, for his vision and the investment he has made in our speedway. Its an honor to be able to represent this facility, and my induction is a tribute to the major impact that LVMS has on southern Nevada. Im humbled to join the other deserving inductees, and I appreciate the Southern Nevada Sports Hall of Fames recognition of our hard work.”(LVMS)
